Terms of Service

Last updated: August 24, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CleanPoll website at cleanpoll.com (the "Site") and the CleanPoll app for Slack (the "App", together with the Site, the "Service"), provided by CleanPoll ("CleanPoll", "we", "us"). By installing the App, authorizing it for a Slack workspace, or using the Site, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and, if applicable, the organization that owns the workspace.

2. Description of the Service

CleanPoll lets Slack workspaces create polls, publish them to channels or direct messages, collect votes through interactive Slack messages, and review results. Available features may change as the Service evolves.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

To install the App, you must have the authority to add apps to the relevant Slack workspace, typically as a workspace administrator or a member Slack allows to install apps. You are responsible for the Slack accounts and workspace used to access the Service.

4. Slack Workspace Installation and Permissions

Installing the App requires granting it certain permissions ("scopes") within your Slack workspace, such as posting messages and reading interactions with poll messages. These permissions are shown by Slack during installation. You can revoke access at any time by removing the App from your Slack workspace settings, which stops CleanPoll from accessing that workspace going forward.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law or Slack's own terms and policies.
  • Send unsolicited, abusive, harassing, or deceptive polls or messages.
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or other workspaces' data.

We may suspend or remove access for any workspace or user that we reasonably believe violates these Terms.

6. User Content and Poll Data

"User Content" means the polls, options, votes, and poll templates that members of a workspace create or submit through the App. You retain ownership of your User Content. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display User Content solely as needed to operate the Service for your workspace (for example, publishing a poll message and tallying votes).

Any member of a workspace may create a poll template, either from scratch or by saving a poll they are creating. A template is private to the workspace that created it and is never shared with, or made visible to, any other workspace. A template can be edited or deleted by the member who created it, or by whoever installed the App in that workspace — no other member can edit or delete a template they did not create.

You are responsible for ensuring that your team has the right to submit any content posted through the App and that it complies with your organization's own policies.

7. Pricing and Future Changes

CleanPoll is currently free to install and use, as described on the Site. If we introduce paid plans or usage limits in the future, we will describe them on the Site and provide reasonable notice before any change that materially affects a workspace already using the Service.

8. Service Availability and Changes

We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features of the Service at any time, including during maintenance or while addressing security issues.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by removing the App from your Slack workspace. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms, or if continuing to provide the Service to your workspace would expose us to legal or security risk. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (such as limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

When a workspace's access ends, whether the workspace removes the App or we suspend access, we delete the identifying content of that workspace's User Content and keep only anonymized totals for statistical purposes, as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CleanPoll will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim arose.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your country or region of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory local consumer protection or data protection laws provide otherwise, in which case those laws will apply to the extent required.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
